BOURTON Roadrunners made a rare but successful appearance at the Gloucestershire Track Championships.

Dennis Walmsley was fourth over the mile and won the veterans 50 gold in five minutes eight seconds.

Tony Goodwill scooped the veterans 55 gold in 6.13 and Dave Turnbull pipped his nearest rival by nine seconds to win the 65 contest.

Darren Long ran 39.39 in the 10,000 metres and Goodwill 41.12 for first veteran 55 after doing the mile race.

The veterans’ team of Graham Lane, Brian Hulcup, John Gibson and Turnbull won the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Ewen Smith was 18th in the Headington five-mile race in 29.24 and Goodwill recorded 32.29.

Susan Hunt smashed her personal best with 35.47 to win the women’s veterans 45 prize.

Bourton’s Steve Edwards ran two marathons at the Enigma Reverse in Milton Keynes, finishing twice both times in three hours 20 minutes and 3.21.
