COTSWOLD Hills Cricket League Premier Division champions Shipston-on-Stour ended a superb season on a winning note.

The hosts beat Exhall and Wixford by 82 runs after dismissing their visitors for 182 in reply to 264-9.

Asked to bat first, Shipston started well with Matt Corby (49) and Tom Cox (20) sharing an opening stand of 72 in 12 overs.

Their departure sparked a slump to 99-6 but Jack Murphy (88) and Phil Hall (37) intervened with an 85-run partnership in 11 overs.

Gary Betteridge (20) added 45 for the eighth wicket with Murphy.

In reply, Marcus Ireland swooped with two early wickets before Dave Murphy (3-25) stepped in to complete 800 first XI league wickets.

Exhall were finished off when Julian Morris held onto a catch off Ireland (3-52). Jack Murphy claimed 2-21 and Corby 2-40.

Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh were relegated from Division One with Winchcombe champions of Division Two.
