PERSHORE Town knocked Coventry Copsewood off the top of Midland League Division One with a 2-2 home draw.
Phil Marsh netted the equaliser five minutes from time in an encouraging display ahead of Saturday's visit of Uttoxeter Town (3pm).
Both sides had numerous chances and struck the woodwork in an entertaining game.
Town fell behind to a 15th-minute penalty but levelled just before the break.
Steve Webb put through Sean Brain, who cut inside and scored with a left-footed curling effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Brain had a a good chance saved and Dane Aldington went close with two long-range strikes.
The second-half was end-to-end but the visitors went ahead when a cross was finished off from close range.
Town continued to create opportunities with good efforts from Antonio Vernaschi and Jake Donnelly.
Marsh eventually levelled with a powerful strike from out wide on the edge of the box.
