PERSHORE Town were unlucky to lose 2-1 to Alvis Sporting Club at the Winstanley and Co King George V Stadium in Midland League Division One.
Both teams had chances in an even game as Pershore's Sean Brain had a shot saved and Phil Marsh put an effort just past the post.
Pershore went ahead in the 40th minute when Steve Webb released Craig Connor, who squared for striker Marsh to coolly place the ball into the top corner.
Alvis equalised within four minutes when a free-kick hit the bar and the striker headed in the rebound.
The visitors scored a 60th-minute winner when a counter-attack resulted in a neat strike from just inside the box.
Pershore visit Highgate United on Saturday and Racing Club Warwick on Monday (both 3pm).
