LITTLETONS climbed away from the foot of the Wildmoor Spa Tennis League Premier Division thanks to a fine 4-0 win over Claverdon.

Richard Herborn and Jack Philpott beat Claverdon's James Courier and Richard Butler 7-5, 6-3 and Carsten Astheimer and Gary Wells 6-3, 6-0.

Littletons' Sean Witheford and Dave Rudge followed suit by defeating Astheimer and Wells 7-5, 6-2 and Courier and Butler 6-3, 6-2.

Meanwhile, bottom-of-the-table Inkberrow celebrated their first win of the season by triumphing 3-1 at Evesham.

The villagers' Jim Richardson and Matt Saunders beat Evesham's Andrew Crowther and Ray Foster-Morison 6-3, 6-4 and Simon Wall and Jack Castle 6-1, 6-0.

Inkberrow's Nick Brookes and Gordon Keir saw off Wall and Castle 6-0, 6-1 but lost to Crowther and Foster-Morison 6-1, 6-4.

Leaders Stratford’s lead at the top increased to seven points after dispatching Alcester 4-0, while Ardencote Manor remained second with a 3-1 win over third-placed Henley-in-Arden.

Chipping Campden withdrew from Division One after only four matches and are automatically relegated with their record expunged.

Studley 'A' remained top with a 4-0 victory over bottom side Shipston-on-Stour.

Moreton-in-Marsh 'A' lead of Division Two was cut to a single point after Stratford 'B' beat Alcester 'B' 3-1.

Whitnash moved to joint third when they overcame Bidford-on-Avon 'A' 3-1.

Inkberrow 'B' shot up the Division Three table to third thanks to two wins, romping home 4-0 at Ilmington and 3-1 at home to Chipping Campden 'B'. Ilmington also drew 2-2 with Wildmoor Spa 'A'.

In Division Four, Claverdon 'C' went top thanks to a 3-1 win over Littleton 'B', while previous leaders Snitterfield 'B' drew 2-2 with Henley 'B' .

Pershore 'B' raced to the summit of Division Five following a dramatic 4-0 win over previous leaders Inkberrow 'C', who fell to second.

Moreton 'B' are fourth after a 2-2 draw with Wildmoor Spa 'B' and Bidford-on-Avon 'B' moved away from the bottom two with a 4-0 victory over basement boys Inkberrow 'D'.
