In motorcycle racing, Evesham’s Mark Tyrrell competed in the third round of six in the East Midland Racing Association Championships at Leicestershire’s Mallory Park.

He continues to lead the 125GP Revolution Championship on his Honda.

The classes were mixed on the grid and Tyrrell qualified in second place overall out of 30 riders, only being bettered by a competitor on a Honda 600cc.

Tyrrell’s opening 10-lap race saw him finish third overall behind the more powerful bikes, which flew ahead down the long straights, but he won his GP125 class.

The Vale racer repeated the feat in the second contest with a GP125 success and third overall to claim maximum championship points and both trophies at the meeting.

The next round is at Mallory Park on Sunday, July 6.
