KINGHAM Hill’s boys won the national schools’ clay shooting championship.
Following an impressive bronze in 2013, the school leapt to the top of the podium this year against fierce opposition from the likes of Millfield, Rugby and Uppingham.
The event was hosted by EJ Churchill Shooting Ground on the West Wycombe Estate, Buckinghamshire, in wet and windy conditions.
But team members from the school near Chipping Norton, Charles Bryant, Benjamin Taylor, Neil Taylor, Samuel Osborne, Archie Fox and Joshua Goddard, conquered the weather to bring home the coveted title.
Kingham Hill sports coach Will Hayes was their mentor for the day and the team were backed by local country clothing retailer William Powell.
Delighted headteacher Nick Seward promised the competitors an open-top car ride around the school grounds to show off the trophy.
