PERSHORE Swimming Club secured 13 gold medals along with 10 silvers at the highly regarded level two Gloucester open meet.

Jasmine Franks, nine, bagged five podium finishes and more personal bests.

Franks took the 200-metre freestyle gold in three minutes 02.70 seconds before adding silvers in the 200m and 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley and bronze in the 50m backstroke.

Tamara Marsden and Lauren Annis also won medals in the same age group and smashed pbs.

Marsden grabbed a 200m backstroke silver and just missed a 50m backstroke podium, while Annis claimed 50m backstroke silver.

Hannah Woodcock, 10, was dominant with golds in the 100m breaststroke in 1.33.15 and 50m breaststroke in 42.55.

She also managed 100m freestyle silver and bronze in the 200m individual medley.

Alex Barry recorded her first victory at a level two meet, claiming the 50m butterfly in 37.60.

Fellow 10-year-olds Macey French and Olivia Howard were also both close to podium finishes and managed pbs.

Megan Annis, 11, joined Pershore’s eight-strong team for next month's Midlands Championships in Coventry with her first qualifying time.

The 11-year-old swam 1.16.75 in the 100m backstroke alongside a string of good displays.

Isabella Woodcock, 11, won the 100m breaststroke in 1.27.25 and 50m breaststroke in 39.67.

Charlotte Downey and Isobel Cumming pushed each other to produce new pbs.

Simon Sweatman, 11, won the 100m butterfly gold in 1.14.06 with a Midlands time and was second in the 200m breaststroke.

William Gearey bagged five golds and three silvers, winning the 200m individual medley (2.41.09), 200m freestyle (2.21.30), 100m backstroke (1.14.54), 50m breaststroke (40.31) and 50m freestyle (29.49).

The silvers were in the 200m backstroke, 400m freestyle and 400m individual medley.

Naomi Marsden secured her first Midlands time of the season on her 12th birthday with 1.14.61 in the 100m backstroke and managed a 50m backstroke gold in 34.47.

Chris Vizard, 12, and Jasmine Taite, 13, smashed pbs, while Beth Carter, 14, took bronzes in the 200m, 100m and 50m breaststroke.

n Pershore’s first overseas intensive training camp in Mallorca was a success.

The club have been donated £800 by law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys so members can compete in Eindhoven, Holland, in July.
