THE merging Evesham and Badsey clubs start a blossoming partnership with a big hockey day on Saturday.
Previously, Evesham ran men's teams in the West Midlands League and Badsey had a women's side in the Worcestershire League.
The new Evesham and Badsey Hockey Club day is at Evesham High School from 2pm until 5pm when there will be games for all ages.
The oldest competitor is expected to be 77 as an old boys' match promises to be a highlight.
Club secretary Rachael Sadler said: "Both teams have had their annual meetings and voted positively for the two clubs to merge.
"This will make a large club that boasts two men's, a ladies' and a veterans' side and a Badgers team for juniors."
The new club, sponsored by Basepoint on Vale Park, will recruit over the summer.
Back-to-hockey sessions start on Wednesday, April 30, from 7.30pm until 8.30pm.
