CARL Brown’s fourth goal in as many games was not enough to prevent Evesham United losing 2-1 at Taunton Town in Calor Southern League Division One South and West.
The Peacocks went ahead in the 29th minute when Ben Carter followed up to score after keeper Louie Barnfather denied Ross McNab.
Lance Smith, Brown and Marcus Palmer forced Town keeper Joe Perry into important first-half stops.
Brown levelled from 20 yards but former Robins defender Lewis Tasker fired Taunton back ahead as Evesham slipped to a third successive defeat.
Sixth-from-bottom United host basement boys Fleet Town on Saturday (3pm). The reserves entertain Badsey Rangers Reserves in the Evesham Hospital Cup next Tuesday (7.30pm).
Evesham: Barnfather, Tambling, Wellon, Wilson, Stauntson, Davis, Holloway (J Smith 69), Brown, L Smith, Palmer, Eyre. Subs not used: Millard, Axton, Barnes.
