PERSHORE Hockey Club were held 2-2 at home by third-placed Atherstone Adders in West Midlands Division Two after conceding a last-gasp equaliser.
The solid defence of Rob Smith, Luke Dalley, Mike Doust and Andy Gardiner impressed in the first-half with Gareth Rushton opening the scoring with a penalty flick.
Tireless running from captain Russell Scudamore, Jake Doney and Rushton in midfield could not produce a second goal.
Atherstone pressed in the second period and equalised from a short-corner strike.
Pershore, who visit Droitwich on Saturday, persevered and link-up play from Russell McGettigan and Paul Grummitt allowed Karl Lawson to slot home.
But Atherstone levelled with the final hit of the game from a short corner.
A weakened Pershore seconds team crashed 6-1 at promotion-chasing Market Drayton.
Gary Stevenson and Simon Gardener defended well, while Ali Sanderson grabbed a late consolation goal.
Pershore women crashed 6-0 at leaders Harborne seconds in Worcestershire League Division One.
Keeper Cat Pinney kept the hosts out until they scored three quick goals in the last 10 minutes of the first-half.
Pershore strived to keep Harborne at bay but shipped three more goals from short-corner routines.
They host Redditch on Saturday (1.30pm).
