EVESHAM'S Terry Fuller is preparing for his first year of superbike racing in the Michelin Power Cup Rookie 1000 Championship with Hottrax Racing.

Fuller, who owns Full On Ink Tattoo Studio in Evesham, hopes to get off to a winning start on the weekend of March 22 and 23 at Brands Hatch.

The 34-year-old, who hails from Bristol but moved to the Vale in 2006, will race a BMW S1000RR superbike with 203 brake horsepower and starts testing today.

Fuller said: "I raced when I was younger in motocross but had to give that up when my daughter was born and then started my business and put the last 12 years non-stop into making that work, so I've not really had time for anything like this.

"But it's something that has always been in the back of my mind and last year I got back into bikes in a big way and did 16 track days, including a three-day event in Portugal.

"This will be my first season on a superbike and in racing of this sort. In the rookies' championship, my aim is first place.

"I get married the week after my first race. I had a hernia operation and have been hard at the gym training twice a day and lost over two-and-a-half stone since the end of October. Personal trainer Jake Meadows has been helping me with my diet and training."

Fuller is supported by Full On Ink, Powerline Tattoo Supplies, the Liverpool Tattoo Convention and Utopia Gym in Evesham but welcomes new sponsors, who can e-mail him at fullonracing07@gmail.com.
