BRETFORTON had to settle for a 2-2 home draw against bottom-of-the-table Cirencester in West Clubs Women's Hockey League Premier Division '2A' after a lacklustre performance.

In a game of few positives for the second-placed hosts, they went ahead when Terri Brown ran clear and placed a fine ball across the 'D' for Sarah Hall to sweep home between the keeper's legs.

But, having lost 6-0 at home, a different Cirencester side showed up fighting for their survival.

Bret were guilty of complacency and the visitors cranked up the pressure, levelling in the second period with a fortunate goal.

The strike fired Bret up and midfield dynamo Lisa Workman collected the ball at the top of the 'D' and found Julie Hall, who pushed the ball into the back of the net.

But they again took their foot off the gas and Cirencester responded quickly with a well-taken equaliser.

Both teams had chances to win the game. Bret's player-of-the-match was Daisy Wheeler.
