THE weather might have been atrocious but the Linda Franks five-mile race saw some fine performances from Bourton Roadrunners.

The popular annual race in its 21st year comprised a flat two-lap course, which was again well organised and marshalled by Almost Athletes.

It was also the first race in the Gloucestershire Road Race Series, so an early opportunity to grab points.

First in for Bourton was Mike Smith in 28 minutes 44 seconds for seventh overall and first male veteran over 45.

Next was Darren Long in 30.59 and Shona Crombie-Hicks was first lady in 31.06 followed by Ewen Smith (31.22) and Tony Goodwill (33.20).

Claire Harrison was first female over 35 in 35.37 ahead of John Gibson (35.49), Alison Lane (first female over 55 in 36.56), Brian Hulcup (37.42), Liz Hulcup (38.08), Graham Lane (38.51), Dave Turnbull (40.14) and Lynn Hudson (43.40).
