FORTY Broadway ladies supported 2014 women’s captain Ann Fairbairn at her inaugural drive-in.
The lady captain’s maiden drive launched players into a nine-hole foursomes match and, even though wind made playing tough, the course remained in fine condition, leading to good scoring.
Pam Hooper and June Griffin won with 19 points, closely followed in second by Ann Fairbairn and Christine Parkinson with 17. Sue Jackson and Betty Thompson were third with 16.
Funds raised on the day made £60 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital renal unit, which is Fairbairn’s chosen charity for the year.
