ROB Austin Racing’s unique scheme offering shares in their Dunlop British Touring Car Championship team to the public has proved an immediate hit with fans.

The Government-backed Enterprise Initiative Scheme (EIS), which allows supporters to reclaim 30 per cent of their investment against tax, is believed to be the first of its kind in motorsport.

For as little as £35 — £24.50 after tax rebate — supporters can effectively own a small part of the Pershore team.

Each investor will have a season-long photograph or message on the roof of one of the RAR Audi A4 race cars. The top investment of £500 is also rewarded with exclusive team hospitality.

Those investing between now and the end of February will be invited to join the team for a question-and-answer session with lead driver Rob Austin during the competition’s pre-season media day launch at Donington Park on March 18. More details can be found at robaustinracing.

co.uk RAR have clinched a two-year sponsorship deal with Shropshire fuel additives company FAST Exocet, who were subsidiary backers in 2013.
