CHAMPION Court is set to seek compensation at Kempton on Saturday after a luckless William Hill King George VI Chase outing.

Ian Popham was unseated when the Cotswold nineyear- old and Riverside Theatre met at the fifth fence in the Boxing Day showpiece.

“He was unlucky. Riverside Theatre cannoned into him and knocked Ian off,”

Condicote trainer Martin Keighley said. “He’s come out of that really well.

“There’s a Listed chase at Kempton on Saturday. He’ll probably go there. The Ryanair will be his target at the Cheltenham Festival.”

Annacotty could bid for further glory at Kempton after giving Keighley a first Grade One triumph at the Sunbury track on Boxing Day. The six-year-old may tackle the big three-mile handicap chase on February 15 after springing a 12-1 surprise in the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase.
