LITTLETON Positives made strong Specsavers Evesham and District League Division One progress with wins over Bengeworth Purple and Wyre Livewyres.
Purple put up strong resistance with Margaret Dignum winning all her singles matches and they came close to snatching victory.
Aileen Phillips took Positives’ Graham Poole and Rob Sinderberry to five sets but lost both.
A determined performance by Poole was key as he also came out on top in another five-set battle with Doug Allan.
Allan and Dignum won the first set of the doubles but Doug Payne and Sinderberry came back to secure the win.
Positives are now third, just one point behind local rivals Littleton Aces.
Bengeworth Lions increased their lead at the top to nine points and look firm favourites for the title.
