LITTLETON made hard work of a 3-0 home win over Blackwood in the St Mary’s Hospice Midland Combination Premier Division.
The sixth-placed hosts saw Blackwood dominate much of the second-half after a lacklustre first period.
Only an inability to convert chances and fine goalkeeping by Haydn Whitcombe prevented them from scoring. At the other end, Littleton left it late to seal the game.
They went ahead on 70 minutes when Jamie Clarke’s fine run was followed by a cross that resulted in an own goal. Clarke doubled the lead on 90 minutes from a pass by Stuart Hall, who added a third in injury-time.
Meanwhile, Pershore Town lost 2-1 at Bolehall Swifts after going ahead through Damien Fearne but the hosts equalised quickly and scored a late winner. Littleton visit Pershore on Boxing Day (11.30am) and host Lichfield City on Saturday (3pm).
