SARAH Hall scored a hattrick as Bretforton ladies ended the first-half of a stunning season back in Premier League ‘2A’ with a convincing 3-1 win against struggling Gloucester City seconds.

It was a determined performance by the hosts and they were in control for large periods of the game.

Tess Lewinton and Deb Slatter’s guile perplexed Gloucester, but it was the pace of Terri Brown that unlocked the visitors’ defence.

She got to the back line and fired the ball across the ‘D’ to find player-of-the-match Hall on hand to bravely slide in and knock the ball home.

This deflated Gloucester and it didn’t take long for Hall to get her second of the game, converting the rebound via a deflection after her initial shot had been saved.

The visitors were handed a lifeline early in the secondhalf when a Bret player was adjudged to have caused a goal-line infringement and the visitors scored the resulting penalty with a brilliantly- taken flick.

Gloucester had their heads up, but Hall capped off a brilliant personal performance and also a stoic team display from the Vale side.

Her hat-trick was completed when Hayley Whitehouse struck the ball across the ‘D’ for Hall to get the decisive touch.

  • Adam Haycock scored twice as Evesham Badgers drew 4-4 draw against Coventry and NW.

Evesham started poorly as they conceded two early goals, but Harry Britten pulled one back, only for Evesham to concede another within minutes of the restart.

Coventry then scored again, but two goals from Haycock meant Evesham went into the break 4-3 behind.

In the second-half, Evesham started to pass the ball and put more pressure on the Coventry defence, with Edward Betteridge firing home the equaliser after a good run from Britten.

Despite creating a number of good chances, Evesham could not find the elusive winner and could have lost but for a couple of excellent saves by Roanne Foster.

  • Pershore Ladies recorded a 4-2 victory at Droitwich in Worcestershire Women’s League Division One.

From the first whistle, they dominated play but it was Droitwich who took the lead on the break.

Unfazed, Pershore hit back and a cracking shot from Emma Gardner levelled the scores.

Kelly Jones drove home a second goal for Pershore at the top of the ‘D’ before a short corner routine led to Ceri Barber adding a third.

Gardner made it 4-1 and Droitwich, who had their captain sent off, scored a late consolation.

  • Pershore men’s seconds lost 5-2 at Droitwich, who took an early lead.

Paul Grummitt then levelled the scores following a short corner before the sides again traded goals, with Ali Sanderson netting a second equaliser for Pershore.

A deflected goal off keeper Steve Taylor gave Droitwich a third goal after the break and they went on to score two more.

  • Pershore men’s thirds lost 2-1 at home to their Redditch counterparts.

It was a much improved performance but they trailed at the interval following a goal from a short corner.

Pershore battled well in the second-half and grabbed an equaliser when Graham Handley put through Phil Taylor to score.

Injuries to both players, however, allowed Redditch back into the game and they grabbed the winner from short corner.
