EVESHAM Martial Arts welcomed home their newest kickboxing world champion in Kamil Sonnenfeld.
The 13-year-old St Egwin’s Middle School pupil won gold in the under 50-kilogramme junior continuous class at the World Kickboxing and Karate Union World Championships in Crete.
The competition attracted fighters from more than 40 countries with Sonnenfeld beating a German in the final.
Coach Ben England said: “Kamil’s improvement over the last six months has been incredible and his performance in the world championships was the icing on the cake.
“The entire team performed brilliantly, a testament to their hard work.
“Every year we go with more students and come away with more medals.”
Evesham also returned with two silvers and five bronzes.
