THREE Vale teenagers set some of the best times for their age groups at the National County Championships in Sheffield.
Pershore’s Tazmin Pugh, representing Herefordshire and Worcestershire, was promoted to Division One and swam the 100-metre butterfly for the 12 to 13-year-old girls.
She finished third in one minute 04.87 seconds with a new personal best.
In the 12 to 13 medley relay, Pugh set the fastest butterfly split time to help her counties finish 10th from 20 Division One teams.
Having moved to Ellesmere College Titans alongside Chloe Golding and Tyler McLean, Pugh will now represent Shropshire.
Swimming for Shropshire, Golding from Evesham was called up for two individual events in the 14 to 15 years category.
She finished fifth in Division Two with 1.03.87 marking a new pb and being the 11th best butterfly time on the day.
In the 100m backstroke, Golding won Division Two in 1.01.98.
Tyler McLean from Charlton was in the 12 to 13 boys’ 100m breaststroke for Shropshire and finished sixth in a short-course pb of 1.15.45 which left him 18th overall from 40 swimmers.
At the Worcester open meet, Evesham’s Harry Bamforth, 13, won the 200m butterfly gold, 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly silvers and three bronze medals, qualifying for the Midland District Championships next summer in all his events.
