SAM Cope scooped two awards at Ashton-under-Hill Cricket Club’s end-of-season dinner.
The 40-year-old slow bowler, who took 29 wickets at 17.48 in Cotswold Hills League Division One and 47 at 15.64 in all games, won both the first team player-of-the-year award and the trophy for most wickets during the season.
Veteran second team batsman Dominic Capaldi, who scored 617 league runs at 38.56 and 794 runs in all games, won the overall club batting award as well as the second team player-of-the-year prize.
His 14-year-old son Giovanni was named junior player-ofthe- year.
Elsewhere, Dan Garland and Luke Norman shared the Sunday player-of-the-year trophy, while Matt Wakefield was awarded the Captains’ Cup.
The clubman trophy went to Guy Garland, who is stepping down as club chairman and second team captain.
