Lennox's five-for is enough in triumph

HARVINGTON are 55 points clear at the top of Worcestershire League Division Two after narrowly defeating third-placed Bewdley by two wickets.
On winning the toss, Bewdley surprisingly batted first despite the showery forecast.
Harvington’s bowling and fielding again shone with Lee Ross conceding just 22 runs in 13 overs.
Spinner Jayden Lennox enjoyed a 17-over spell of 5-35 as none of the Bewdley batsman could come to terms with the attack in their 134 all out. Ben Hawker chipped in with 3-39.
In reply, Andre Delport gave Harvington momentum at the start with a quick-fire 28 but wickets tumbled at the other end.
At 85-7, Harvington struggled against seamer Rob Crane (5-55) and spinner Jack Mills but Hawker controlled the lower order with 20 not out supported by wicketkeeper Pete Smith (17no) to gain a key success.
The seconds succumbed to a 140-run defeat in Division Three at Avoncroft team who were all out for 275 with Simon Rickett taking 4-45.
In reply, Steve Mckelvie top scored with 62 as Harvington were dismissed for 135.
Harvington’s Sunday side beat Norton Lindsey by 45 runs with Lennox hitting an unbeaten century and Darren Ross 35 in their 244-7 in 40 overs.
Norton Lindsey finished on 199-9 with three wickets for Dan Colburn and Hawker.
