HARVINGTON maintained their 45-point lead at the top of Worcestershire League Division Two with a three wicket home success over Coombs Wood.

The visitors batted sensibly against below-par fielding although top scorer Matthew Colwell (98) was dropped.

Jayden Lennox took 4-66 and Ben Hawker 3-76 in Wood’s 231-8 from 50 overs.

Harvington started positively with James Towey’s aggressive 49 supported by Jaimen Rudd (44). Lee Ross (55) saw them home with more than six overs left.

The seconds secured a losing draw at Birlingham.

Birlingham amassed 285-7 with Jon Small (72) and Brian Seward (60) starring before Harvington managed 282-9 through Graham Jones (93) and Mark Onens (51).

Harvington defeated Exhall and Wixford by 150 runs in a friendly, scoring 272-7 via Dan Colburn (70 not out), Simon Price (56) and Lennox (47).

Exhall fell for 122 with Angus Hardy taking 1-28 and George Burford 1-23.

􀁥 Third-placed Pershore put on a poor Division One batting display at home to Bromyard who moved up to fourth with a six-wicket success.

Chris Ridings, coming to the wicket on 88-4, scored 44no in Pershore’s 190 all out.

Bromyard’s opening stand of 109 between Ashley Bullock (69no) and Ryan Tongue (57) laid the foundations.

Dinusha Fernando hit 41 from 23 balls and Bullock held firm to earn 20 points.

Tom Attwood (5-22) and Powell (2-3) helped dismiss Stanway for 97.
