EVESHAM Vale completed their first club triathlon in the town.
Age group winners — Tri Star (eight years — 50- metre swim, one-kilometre bike, 500m run): first Martha Cross 13 minutes 35 seconds; Tri Star One (nine- 10 years — 150m swim, 2km bike, 1km run): first boy Hamish Cross 18.33, first girl Macey French 19.53; Tri Star Two (11 to 12 years — 250m swim, 4km bike, 2km run): first girl Harriet Rimell 35.32, first boy Euey Breach 37.11; Tri Star Three (13 to 14 years — 300m swim, 6km bike, 2km run): first girl Eleanor Tarring 37.52, first boy Fin Breach 35.43. Marc Farmer tacked the tough Wimbleball Ironman 70.3 in wet conditions at Exmoor, finishing the 1.2-mile lake swim, 56-mile bike section and half-marathon run in six hours 16 minutes 41 seconds.
He was 382nd out of around 1,400 and raised more than £1,000 for Scope.
Veterans Sue Turner and Kate Palfrey completed the Great North swim in Lake Windermere. Several Vale Triathletes members head to Sunday’s Avenger Half Iron distance at Ragley Hall.
