THE owner and key sponsor of Evesham’s National Superstock Series team Jones Dorling Racing has died after a short illness.

Neil Dorling’s funeral was held in Truro after the Cornwall- based boss passed away in his mid-60s.

Plans were under way ahead of the 2013 season with the signing of racer Cody Nally who travelled from Ireland to attend the funeral.

Nally said: “This is a huge challenge but my aim is to do the team, sponsors, friends and most importantly Neil proud.”

The list of series competitors is strong, as Evesham ace Simon Andrews returns to the class on a Honda.

Chris Jones continues as team manager, while Ben and Anne Blackmore of Blockley company Paxford Engineering are helping with sponsorship.

More backing is needed, however, and anyone interested can call Jones on 07976- 966752.
