EVESHAM Vale Triathletes' senior ladies were in fine form at the annual Peopleton Duathlon. Veteran Melanie Betts was second and super veteran Helen Seabourne won her age group over a four and two-mile run and 18-mile bike section, clocking one hour 45 minutes 29 seconds and 2.26.28 respectively.
Worcester Triathlon Club hosted the ninth year of the event in dry but chilly weather with more than 80 competitors signing up. The overall male winner was Richard Lomas, of BRAT Club, in a speedy 1.20.32 ahead of Worcester's Daniel Geisler in 1.21.05 and Danny Harris, above, who hails from Evesham, in 1.21.31. Allison Bagnell took the women's honours in 1.34.36 with Jessica Williams second in 1.38.36 and Nicola Noble, of Yogi Cycling, third in 1.42.50. Tom Ward bagged the male junior category, while Andrew Shipton and Louise Reynolds claimed the veteran sections.
Peter Wheddon won the other super vet class and Peter Hawcroft the male ultra vet.
