BRITISH Touring Car Championship ace Rob Austin had double reason to celebrate his 32nd birthday after becoming a British Racing Drivers’ Club member.

Bretforton-based Austin was voted in by the board and joins the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

“The BRDC membership is just awesome and I have to thank the board for welcoming me into their famous club,” said Austin.

“I feel honoured to be joining a number of my peers as well as some extremely famous British names from the worlds of F1 and other international motorsport.

“I’ll be looking to use the BRDC’s insight, knowledge and contacts to build on my team’s fortunes in 2013.”

Wix will sponsor Austin’s Pershore team’s Audi A4 in the championship and he will appear in Ron Howard’s new movie Rush later this year.
