THE Cotswold League playoffs started with six teams who finished bottom of their qualifying groups.
Only one team could progress to the next round on January 29 and Blockley topped the first pool, beating Bourton-on-the-Water 3-1 and drawing 1-1 with St Catharines.
St Catharines overcame Bourton 1-0 as Hermione Hill netted after referee Pippa Short’s fine advantage.
Blockley’s Jacob Siviter struck a hat-trick against Bourton and Isabel Honour responded.
Siviter was sin-binned against St Catharines, and Giles King scored, but he returned to level. In the other group, Willersey beat Bredon Hill 2-0 and Shipston 1-0, while Shipston and Bredon Hill drew 1-1 with Matthew Squance and Edward Brookman on target respectively.
George Smith and Ozzie Summerhill helped Willersey beat Bredon although keeper Haylie Summerhill impressed.
Oliver Hedges scored against Shipston whose keeper Max Morris shone.
Bourton beat Bredon Hill 1-0 for 15th place with an Honour goal.
St Catharines went 1-0 up through Sam Bayliss against Shipston in their quest for 13th.
Two sin-binnings hit Shipston and King completed a 2-0 win.
The qualifier saw Willersey beat Blockley 1-0 through Ozzie Summerhill and they meet Bledington, St Marys, Mickleton, Tredington and Temple Guiting for a top group place.
