EVESHAM’S Beth Carter and Toby Vale travelled to Wolverhampton for the Crystal open meet hosted by Stourbridge.

Carter won the 13 to 14- year 100-metre breaststroke with a personal best of one minute 23.88 seconds.

She was second in the 200m breaststroke with another pb of 3.07.88 ahead of the Worcestershire finals in March.

Carter has qualified for the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Vale swam in the nine and 10 year group in Wolverhampton, completing the 50m freestyle in 39.72 and gaining a new pb in the 100m individual medley with 1.42.16.

He earned another pb in the 50m breaststroke in 58.21.
