CHILDSWICKHAM Gun Club held their monthly competition at Oldwell Farm with a 40-target sporting layout.

Possibly the most highly contested shoot in the calandar included the Russel Bindoff Christmas prize and the John Gazey memorial trophy.

It is the only one involving a handicap system based on each member’s average score during the past year which was calculated by club secretary and treasurer Allan Clayton.

A healthy turn-out saw competitive shooting throughout and David Galbraith lifted both the trophy and first prize with a total score of 43.

He was followed by Dave Lindup with 39 and third spot was a tie between Paul Colley, Dave Andrews and Merv Holland. They contested a close shoot-off which was won by Holland. The club’s annual meeting is next Wednesday and there will be a shoot on January 27.
