TRAVELLING stunned the field with a 16-1 victory for Cropthorne trainer Tony Carroll in the 32Red Apprentice Handicap which opened racing at Kempton on Monday.

Ridden by Ryan Tate on the all-weather surface at the Middlesex course, the duo motored on over the final furlong to win by one-and-aquarter lengths ahead of Hierarch (6-1) and Divine Rule (8-1) among nine runners.

The four-year-old bay filly completed her second win, which was achieved with a previous trainer in 2011, after finishing runner-up at Wolverhampton under Carroll last month.
