Blood on target as Town win

PERSHORE Town enjoyed a comprehensive 3-1 victory over seventh-placed Brocton in the Athium Midland Football Combination Premier Division.

The hosts went ahead on 15 minutes following a fine run by Zac Blood and his crossshot fell to Sean Cooke who rounded the keeper to score.

Pershore increased the lead in the 30th minute when Richard Congrave worked the ball wide for Blood and his cross was met by a firm Scott Finnegan header.

A controlled second-half show from 14th-placed Town saw them score a third on 60 minutes when a Blood corner was fumbled into the net by the keeper.

Ten minutes from the end, Brocton scored a consolation through a fine individual effort from Joe Pickering.

Pershore, whose last game was on Boxing Day when they drew 2-2 with Bromsgrove Sporting, produced an impressive all-round display.
