EVESHAM gave an improved display in their 4-2 home defeat to West Bromwich in ENER-G West Midlands League Division Two.
They conceded an early penalty stroke but defended well to contain the visitors helped by the fine goalkeeping of Andy Mabbett.
Evesham found their stride and composure with the experienced Mark Dufty and Martin Husbands shining.
The equaliser arrived when Rob Leighton’s shot was nicked in by Husbands at the far post but West Brom responded with a second goal.
Evesham’s second-half play was more controlled, yet chances were not converted.
West Brom broke to score two more but a final flurry was rewarded with a consolation penalty stroke from Marcus Humpston.
- Badsey won 3-0 at Ludlow in Worcestershire Women’s League Division One.
Kay Amphlett, Lynne Ellarby and Karen Robinson scored.
