A MAN was reportedly stabbed during a fight in a supermarket car park before being taken to hospital.

Harry Williams said he was the only witness to the alleged incident in the car park of Sainsbury’s on Swanpool Walk in St John’s, Worcester, on Friday night (February 24) at around 11.30pm.

The 18-year-old, also of St John’s, called the police after watching a fight between two men, which resulted in one sustaining stab wounds to his chin and the left side of his torso, he claimed.

After calling 999, Mr Williams said seven officers, including an armed unit, arrived at the scene.

“They were arguing in the car park and having a scrap,” he said, referring to the incident.

“Then one ran off with the knife and turned back to the other one on the ground and pointed the knife at him.”

Mr Williams, who was getting money out of the cash machine at the time, said he then saw the injured man “hobbling away” and “I just saw all the blood”.

He said he called the police and attempted to follow the injured man but lost him.

“I didn’t even see him face to face by the time I got over to where [it happened], I last saw him and saw all of the blood he was gone and that’s when I phoned the police,” he explained.

Mr Williams said a dog squad, two armed response units and two normal police units quickly arrived at the scene.

He said the injured man was tracked down and taken away in an ambulance, while he gave a statement to the police before officers gave him a lift home.
