A POET and author is set to release his debut collection of poetry to show those affected by mental health that they are not alone.

Worcester based Daniel Burton, 23, will release 'Dark Nights into Brighter Days' at Paradiddles Music Bar, Sidbury, on Saturday July, 28. In his collection of poems and short stories, Mr Burton talks openly about his own difficulties with depression.

“With Dark Nights into Brighter Days, I hope to show other people out there who are struggling that there is always someone who will be there for them,”

“It was at university when I really began to have my own struggles – I was finding it hard to cope with the pressure of deadlines, how I saw myself, and having a real problem with overall confidence. My friends and family really kept me strong during that period; I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am now without their support and this is my way of saying thank you to them.”

“I turned to poetry first to just get down how I was feeling,”

“Then when I moved to Worcester last year, I found the confidence to take it further. The support from the poetry circle here in Worcester has been incredible!”

Mr Burton plans to donate some of the money from each sale of his collection to a mental health charity.

Copies of Dark Nights into Brighter Days will be available on Amazon from the beginning of July or by placing a pre-order with Daniel directly by emailing daniel@dburtonediting.com.
