FORMER Wolves captain Jody Craddock will pull on his football boots once again to take part in a charity match in memory of a Kidderminster man.

The footballer-turned artist will skipper a team of veterans at the tournament and fun day, which will take place at Gilt Edge club and grounds in Kidderminster on Sunday, July 1.

It is being held in honour of Marcus Davis, who was just 24 when he died on January 25 almost a year after he was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer.

Marcus’ best friend Shane Trossell will captain a team of younger players who will take on Jody’s team.

The day was organised by another of Marcus’ friends Mark Donaldson, who wanted to do something in his memory. He is being supported by Marcus’ family and friends.

Proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust and Clic Sargent charity, which supported Marcus’ family during the traumatic time.

As well as the football, a number of acts have been confirmed to perform on the day including Murmur, Bon Jovi tribute Bad Medicine, Social Hysteria and Secret Cabaret.

There will also be a set by local DJ Chris Foxall, children’s entertainment and food stalls.

Marcus’ uncle Ashley Grasham said they need a large generator to supply power for the live music and PA system and appealed for anyone who can help to contact him via email at ashgrash1977@gmail.com or by calling 07931 314160.
