THREE projects presented their cases to win a share of £267,000 of funding.

Evesham Town Council hosted a public meeting to hear presentations from three organisations seeking New Homes Bonus (NHB) funding.

In the current year, the town council has up to £267,000 of NHB funding to allocate.

The Almonry Museum is calling for £25,000 for restoration and repair work whilst Evesham Bowls Club are asking for £65,000 for a new pavilion.

Evesham Arts Centre and Prince Henry’s School are calling for £20,000 for replacement and widened access road.

These projects are not competing against each other for funding, but they need to demonstrate that there is community support to enhance their bid

Deadline to get responses in is 10am on Tuesday June 26.

Please remember, these projects are not competing against each other for the money and you can support all, 1, 2, or none of them.

The Government introduced the New Homes Bonus in April 2011.

The bonus was designed to ensure that the economic benefits of housing growth are returned to the councils and communities where that growth takes place.

For every new home built and occupied in Wychavon, and every long-term empty home brought back into use, the government gives Wychavon District Council (WDC) a non-ring fenced New Homes Bonus grant each year for six years.

WDC in turn ring-fence a percentage of this to town and parish councils for local projects.
