FOUR Herefordshire businesses came away with prizes when the Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards.

A total of 600 people gathered at the University of Worcester Arena to hear how businesses were making their mark across the two counties.

Among the county businesses to win awards were Hereford's Kinetic 6 Ltd in the 'best use of technology' category and ETL Systems Limited, from Madley, who were crowned 'exporter of the year'.

Meanwhile Hereford's Level Peaks Associates Ltd was named the 'high growth business of the year' and the NMiTE university project was chosen by the judges as the 'most promising new business'.

Professor Esen Bayar, the co-owner of ETL, said that their success belonged to everyone at the firm of specialist radio frequency engineers.

“We are very proud to have won this award," he said.

"It's our people that make the difference at ETL and that is why recruitment and retention of our staff is high on our HR strategy agenda."

And Jessica Stone, ETL's HR manager, added: "We have some very exciting recruitment plans to drive business growth over the next couple of years and are privileged to be working in close partnership with NMiTE which will aid this growth.”
