A DANCER was flown to Greece to star in a TV advert.
Shelley Eva Haden said: “I don’t actually have a TV licence, I just watch Netflix and things on my laptop.”
The advert filmed for FairFX has been shown across the UK on Channel four and ITV channels.
Miss Haden, 25, a professional dancer from St John’s, Worcester was recommended by a colleague for the casting before she sent her photos for them to check she was right for the part. “It was funny because they said they wanted someone understated and natural, and I am not that. I’ve got a black streak in my hair and bleached blonde hair, so I said to them, are you sure?”
Miss Haden said: "It was filmed in Athens so they flew us over. It was really fun."
Miss Haden who has performed in theatres and outdoor dance projects and also teaches dance said she got paid a lot of money compared to what she is used to getting. "I could live for a year off that. For me that's really big." Miss Haden continued: "I'm really grateful, it was a great experience."
Miss Haden graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2014. She has been nominated for a national dance award and has received arts funding for projects. She will perform at the Science Museum in London for the whole month of August and at Think Tank in Birmingham on Saturday and Sunday, September 8 and 9, before taking the piece to Hong Kong. The piece is about Antarctica and the impact of global warming.
