BADSEY’S annual carnival was another great success this year with several floats taking part and helping to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

This year’s carnival king and queen 2018 George Salter and Eve Lathan, with their attendants Lucy Humpston, Gracie Neale and Joshua Key, did the village very proud.

A carnival committee spokesman said: “A big thank you to everyone involved; Evesham Police Department for help leading the parade, Evesham Fire Crew, Alan Wilks Scaffolding Ltd, Badsey Community and Sports Club, all the Marshalls and Badsey Carnival Committee for making this year our best, to Francesca Carmine for being this year’s photographer and to Budget Skips.

“Another massive thank you to all of our local sponsors; Jason Medcroft, Buzz Electrical Ltd, Bill Bird Shoes, Underfloor Heating Technologies, Henson Plant Hire, Attwoods, Transmec Group and Spencer Commercial Services.

“Lizzies Busy Bus joined the free event for a fun filled day. Badsey Rangers Ladies Darts Team were joined by Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker as the cast of Star Wars took a trip around the village, Cleeve Prior CE Primary School got involved as Smurfs whilst L-K Aerial were dressed as Alice and Wonderland and took home the first place prize this year.”

The day ended at Badsey Community Sport Club with stalls, all day and night music from DJ Nick Kilby, a fun fair, live dancing from Pirouette Dance School and All-Starz Gymnastics, a gin tent, barbecue, tug-of-war competition and lots more.”
