A STOURPORT beauty queen will be hosting a charity ball later this month in support of a children’s charity.

Miss Wyre Forest Sophie Blundell has organised the “Time to Shine” charity ball, which will be held at Wharton Park Golf Club in Bewdley.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Beauty with a Purpose charity which supports disadvantaged children and young people across the globe.

It will be held on Saturday, August 25 from 7pm to midnight and feature a host of entertainment including live performances from Step by Step dance studio in Stourport and Birmingham’s LMK diverse dance group.

People will also be able to enjoy a DJ and barbecue.

The 24-year-old is currently vying to become Miss England and took part in the first leg of the finals at Resorts World in Birmingham on July 26 and 27.

The second part will see her at Kelham Hall in September where they will go ‘Glamping’ and go through talent and eco rounds.

If she takes home the top prize, the former Stourport High School pupil will be in with a chance to become Miss World.

Alongside this, Sophie has also been visiting schools across Wyre Forest to promote body confidence and help young people love themselves for who they are.

Tickets for the ball cost £30 for adults and £20 for under 12s and anyone interested can get tickets by emailing Sophie on misswyreforest@gmail.com or by calling her on 07539 077380.
