A CHARITY game held in memory of a Redditch teenager killed on the Coventry Highway has doubled its fundraising target.
Oliver Paul Sellers, known as Ollie, died after a two-car collision on the A4023 Coventry Highway in Redditch in May last year.
His family, who have launched a campaign to install crash barriers on all of the district’s dual carriageways as a result, described the 19-year-old as a “fantastic, caring and funny” son to parents Paul and Tracy, and brother to Jarod and Ryan.
The Ollie Sellers memorial game was held at Redditch United's Trico Stadium in the town centre on Sunday and raised a whopping £4,000 for Brake the Road Safety Charity, which works to stop road deaths and injuries and supports people bereaved or injured in road crashes.
The original target was £2,000.
Paul Sellers, Ollie's father, said it was fantastic day which saw more than 400 people turn up.
To date the family have raised thousands for the charity, as well Touchstones Child Bereavement.
