A TALKING newspaper service that brings the news from The Shuttle to more than 150 blind and partially sighted residents is looking for new helpers.
The Wyre Forest Talking Newspaper is looking for fresh blood to give up a few hours a week to help with the weekly tasks, particularly with editing and script preparation.
The service is a registered charity run by volunteers and funded solely by donations and is produced at their state of the art studios in Franche.
David Condy, the Talking Newspaper’s Chairman, said: “We have over 50 volunteers working in three teams as readers, helping with admin, copying and listener liaison.
“But we need more help, particularly with editing and preparing the scripts for our readers each week.”
Anyone who is able to volunteer and be part of the editorial team, a job that entails choosing the news articles and assembling them and being present in the studio while they’re being recorded, can contact the Volunteer Liaison Officer on 01384 872792, or visit their website at www.wftn.org.uk.
