BAKERY firm Greggs has confirmed it is opening a new shop in Warndon next week.

The firm, which is widely reported to be the UK's largest bakery chain, will be opening a new shop at Berkeley Shopping Centre in Warndon, next Tuesday, July 31.

Greggs says the new shop will offer customers a "contemporary food-on-the go experience", with seating available for customers who wish to enjoy their purchases inside the shop.

With the launch of the new outlet, 10 new jobs have been created, with the remaining posts left to fill being advertised at greggsfamily.co.uk.

In store Greggs says customers will be able to enjoy a range of savouries, as well sandwiches and salads that are freshly prepared throughout the day.

Breakfast will be served until 11am, featuring traditional classics such as bacon rolls, fresh fruit and a full range of freshly ground, Fairtrade coffee.

There will also be a Balanced Choice range that includes a selection of sandwiches, salads, soups, porridge and fruit - all fewer than 400 calories.

Adam Power, shop manager at Greggs Berkeley Shopping Centre, said: “We can’t wait to open our doors and hear what the local community thinks.

"We hope customers enjoy the wide range of tasty items we have on offer.”

Roisin Currie, retail and people director for Greggs, added: “We’re delighted to be able to invest in Worcester, bringing new jobs to the area and providing both new and existing customers with a modern and convenient new shop.”

The new shops opening times are between 6am and 7pm, Monday to Friday, and from 7am until 7pm on Saturday, and 8am until 5pm on Sunday.

Greggs already has two shops in the city centre, in High Street and in The Shambles.
