THE city council has said it will take court action if travellers who have set up camp on Racefield Meadow refuse to leave.
Worcester City Council says court papers will be served on Monday if needed so they can repossess the land.
Council officers issued a notice earlier in the week and the travellers said they would be leaving today (Friday, July 21).
The group, believed to comprise of at least five caravans, arrived at the site, near Rowntree Gardens on Saturday.
A city council spokesman said today: "The travellers are still present but they have advised that they will leave before the weekend.
"Our Civil Enforcement Officers will monitor the situation and if needs be, court papers will be served on Monday."
Meanwhile, Worcestershire County Council has today confirmed two caravans at County Hall had left overnight.
