TALENTED young performers put on a show of a different kind – as they took to the airwaves for a hospital radio broadcast.

Cast members from the upcoming WODYS (Worcestershire Operatic and Dramatic Society Youth Section) production of Whistle Down The Wind entertained patients at Worcestershire Royal Hospital when they were interviewed by the hospital’s Choice Radio presenters.

Youngsters from the show – which is on at Worcester’s Swan Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday, August 1 to 5, talked about the production and sang a few songs from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.

A handful of the cast of 57 youngsters, aged eight-to-18, gave listeners a hint of this fantastic show which follows a group of children who discover an escaped prisoner in a barn – whom they take to be Jesus and vow to protect.

Presenters Tony Deakin and Pete Phillips also chatted to Rachel Price, their choreographer, Bev Abbs, publicity officer and one unsuspecting WODYS mum.

WODYS has chosen Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Club in Worcester as its charity for 2017.

Proceeds from interval raffles at its performances of Whistle Down The Wind will be going towards the cause.

Tickets for the show are available from the Swan box Office on 01905 611427
