DEDICATED tap dancers are looking for more people from across Wyre Forest to join their efforts to break a world record and help raise money for charity.

Zennor’s Dance and Musical Theatre Academy will host its fourth Tapathon in aid of Children In Need on Sunday, November 19.

The challenge involves dance schools from across the country performing a recorded routine on the same day at the same time.

The record currently stands at seven and a half thousand people and the nation fell agonisingly short last year by just 112 people.

Now, the Academy – which hosts classes in Stourport and Far Forest – is urging more people of all ages and abilities to join them and help break the record.

Academy principal and owner Zennor McGuire said: “We are looking for even more people this year - any age and ability to help us break the world record for Children In Need.

“Last year we had over 40 dancers and we came so close. Not only does it give you a chance to get fit, we also have a great social circle once you become part of the Tapathon troupe.”

On November 19, the dancers will be tapping to the tune of Stevie Wonder and Arianna Grande’s hit “Faith”

Rehearsals start this month every Monday at Far Forest Village hall at 7.30pm from the 24th and Saturdays at 3pm at Stourport’s Minster Road, Church Hall from the 29th.
