THE County Museum at Hartlebury Castle is running a calendar of fun events for the whole family this summer.

As part of their 'Summer Fun' events, youngsters can join in with a range of themed weeks which will include craft activities, interactive sessions and explorer trails.

Activities will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout August, between 10.30am and 4pm - with every week featuring a different theme, so visitors can find something new to try.

Themes throughout August include battles and sieges, nature rangers, creative construction, space and storytime.

Activity days cost £2 per child for the day's activities on top of the normal admission charge.

And in the last week of August, the museum will host a 'Storytime' event on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28) where children can dress up and meet characters from their favourite stories - including Professor Dumbledore, Mary Poppins and Snow White. There will also be games and competitions including Quidditch and trying your hand at archery with one of Robin Hood's Merry Men.

Pippa Ashmore, museum events manager, said: "School holidays can seem endless and it can start getting really expensive keeping the kids entertained, but a visit to the County Museum is affordable fun for the whole family.

"Throughout the summer each week has a different theme one everything from battle and sieges, to nature and space, so families can visit more than once and be assured of finding new activities to delight and inspire them, as well as learning something new.

"And for those who plan to come more often, the family pass for £32 offers great value and includes admission to all craft activities and events for a year."
